City Council honors long-time Fire Department employee

SEBRING - When Tom Dunn was hired in 1978, he was part of a historic milestone for the Sebring Police Department. He was one of eight firefighters hired to staff the then new fire station on U.S. 27. Thirty-Five years later, Dunn, who had since risen to the level of deputy fire chief, was honored by the Sebring City Council Tuesday evening for his many years of hard work and service. Mayor George Hensley, who presented Dunn with a plaque and a pocket watch, praised Dunn for his dedication to the department and the community.
The city also approved an ordinance proposing the estimated annual fire assessment, which would remain the same. It is $26 per year for a residence.
