SEBRING - A man suspected of associating with a man believed to be involved in criminal activity and a possible person of interest in a murder was arrested Wednesday, according to a report released Thursday.
Omar Jucsue Rushing, 26, 6491 Orduna, Sebring, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted Florida felon and violation of probation.
The report did not identify the man who was a possible person of interest in the murder or specify which murder. Highlands County Chief Deputy Mark Schrader said he couldn't provide additional information because of the open investigation.
Rushing was on probation for carrying a concealed firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm and fleeing, the report said.
During the search a deputy found a weapon in the house, the report said.
Man accused of theft
SEBRING - A man accused of stealing coins in May from a roommate was arrested Tuesday on a warrant, according to a report released Wednesday.
Marshall Weston McAdam, 32, 3120 Grouper Ave., Sebring, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and petit theft.
The arrest came after a roommate of McAdam reported that someone went into his bedroom and stole about $75 in change.
Two other roommates reported seeing McAdam removing the screen from the victim's window.
One of them said McAdam invited him to go to Wal-Mart to help spend the money.
