Edge All-Stars take top honors

The 2012-2013 Edge All Stars from Edge Cheer Center in Sebring are having an amazing competition season. Ranging in age from 4-18, these young athletes represent Highlands, Hardee, Okeechobee, and Polk County at regional, state, and national level cheerleading competitions. The Edge has six competition teams with various ages and various levels. Twinkles are the youngest team of 4-5 year olds, competing in the Tiny Level 1 division. Members include Hannah Andrews, Lynlee Baker, Annslee Gose, Ashlyn Hunnewell, Cori McClelland, Madisyn Miners, Isabelle Ritacco, Katelyn Rowe, Baylee Sevigny, Riley Sevigny, Rylee Spencer, Maria Swaford, and Gracie Troy. Comets, ages 5-8, are a more advanced team competing in the Mini Level 2 division. Members are Lynlee Baker, Karlee Baker, Paige Benton, Abby Bernardo, Lilly Byrd, Jasmine Delgado, Zowy Demeere, Mallory Green, Arre Hawthorne, Ramiya Hawthorne, Baxley Hines, Nakeia Justin, Lauren Lower, Amaiya Peterson, Sydney Porter, Emma Rapp, Emma Sevigny, Taylor Simmons, Corin Smith, Greer Smoak, Madeline Swaine, Christiana Tomblin, Tori West, Ellee Grace Whitehouse, and Kennedy Wolfe.
Competing in the Youth Level 3 division, Infinity is a new team for the Edge this season made up of 6-11 year olds. They are Madison Austin, Karissa Baker, Keelan Bevis, Ashley Bible, Kylie Caputo, Shane Dale, Chelsea Feickert, Reed Forsee, Addy Gose, Morgan Hancock, Tori Morris, Emma Rowe, Hayli Simmons, Jordan Sinness, Rilian Smith, Star Parker, Anna Piccione, Cassidy Turner, Kinsley White, and Shelby Zeigler. The Junior 2 team of Eclipse is comprised of athletes ages 7-14. Members include Keana Ash, Kassidy Caputo, Madison Culverhouse, Kristal Deery, Hannah Edwards, Janelis Guzman, Haley Hill, McKenzie Kirby, Isabella Knott, Larissa Meagher, Ciara Pharnes, Carly Reed, Makayla Rhoden, Vivian Rhodes, Katrina Scholl, Halley Shiers, MaKenzie Thomas, Megan Underwood, Noemi Vargas, and Cassie Warner. Odyssey is a small team competing in the Junior Level 3 division. They are made up of athletes ages 8-14 years old. They are Emma Baird, Quanteja Bostic, Sabrina Deery, Samantha Donovan, Maci Leaphart, Madison Leaphart, Kami McGrath, Alexis Newgent, Stephanie Roberts, Jessica Schalk, Rilian Smith, Jacey Solis, Caroline Taylor, Spencer Thompson, Haley White, and Mariah Wyatt. Galaxy is the oldest and most advanced team made up of 11-18 year olds competing in the Small Senior 4 division. Members are Quanteja Bostic, Brittany Carlisle, Katie Carol, Lindsey Day, Samantha Donovan, Sydney Donovan, Darby Farr, Taylor Granata, Madison Hancock, Anslee Kinslow, Jessie Kovens, Sumer Lewis, Kami McGrath, Anna Roberts, Cheyenne Sexton, Gracie Smoak, Adrianna Springsteen, Brittany Welch, and Haley White. Most recently, Edge competed at the American Open National Championships in Orlando and the Comets, Infinity, and Galaxy teams brought home second-place trophies in their divisions and Odyssey finished third. Several weeks before, all six of the teams traveled to Lakeland for Mardi Gras Nationals. The Twinkles, Comets, Infinity and Galaxy all brought home first-place trophies. Eclipse was third and Odyssey placed second. In addition, Galaxy was crowned Grand Champion Level 4, with the top score out of all of the level 4 teams. The Edge All Stars have competed at several other state and regional competitions this season consistently bringing home multiple top three spots. Galaxy will be heading out to the US Spirit Open Nationals in a few weeks and then all six teams will be competing at the NCA International Open Championships in Daytona Beach in April for their final competition of the season. The Edge All Stars will be hosting their annual EDGE Cheer Expo on Friday, April 12th at the Highlands Today Center. The show is open to the public to come see what these young athletes work so hard to perfect all season. The show begins at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6:30.
