SEBRING - A Highlands County School District bus backed into a car on Burkett Avenue and SR 66 Tuesday afternoon. One teenager was riding on the bus but was unhurt, and the driver of the car had minor injuries, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

At about 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, the bus was at a stop sign on Burkett Avenue waiting to pull onto SR 66. As an oncoming car turned, the bus driver, Sharon Bunker, began pulling out, then saw another car coming and attempted to back up out its way. The bus backed into a car driven by Vicki Morris, which was behind the bus, according to the report.

A 15-year-old child was on the bus but was unhurt.
