The final major of the 2022 golf season, The Open Championship, has begun. A historic 150th match At St. Andrews. The beauty of summer surrounds Scotland as The Open Home of Golf returns for the first time since 2015. This week marks the 30th time the Old Course has hosted The Open. , the presence of Tiger Woods and the state of the game, many refer to this event One of the most important majors in history.
Colin Morikawa enters as the defending champion, but all eyes will be on Rory McIlroy, who enters as the favourite. The Northern Irishman has been playing some of the best golf of his career recently and he will be looking to cap off a huge season with his first major championship since 2014. Tiger Woods was in attendance for his last legitimate shot at winning the third Claret Jug at St. Andrews. There is Matthew Fitzpatrick looking to pull off a rare US Open-Open double after the Englishman won the US National Championship in June.
