The incident was being reviewed by the NFL on Tuesday for possible disciplinary action, according to a person familiar with the situation. It was not immediately clear whether a suspension or only a fine would be possible.
The Raiders fell to 1-4 with the one-point loss. Each of the team’s losses was by one score, and it was especially harsh against its AFC West rival, fueled in part by coach Josh McDaniels’ decision to try a two-point conversion for a lead rather than an extra point to tie after Adams. Earlier in the game, Adams appeared to have a first down when he leaned on the sideline at the Kansas City 39. But officials reversed that call.
The result left a sour taste in his mouth as the Raiders head into their bye week. However, he apologized in the locker room before sending his sad tweet.
“Before I answer anything else, I want to apologize to that guy — a guy ran out on the field and he ran and jumped in front of me as we were coming off the field and I bumped into him and pushed him and I think he ended up on the ground,” Adams said. (via ESPN) “I wanted to apologize to him for that. The frustration mixed with him running in front of me and actually running, I shouldn’t have reacted that way. But I did in the first place, so I want to apologize to him.
