Mega Millions Numbers: Jackpot Tops $1 Billion, 4 New Millionaires in NY and NJ

The Mega Millions lottery jackpot has soared to $1.02 billion after someone matched all six numbers to win the top prize.

Despite the absence of top prize winners, four people in the Tri-State area — two in New York and two in New Jersey — are waking up millionaires Wednesday morning.

Winning Numbers for Tuesday 7/26/22: 29, 63, 66, 7, 60 — Mega Ball 15.

The $1 million winning ticket was sold at the Honey Bee convenience store on Forest Avenue in the Mariners Harbor section of Staten Island. The second was sold at Cumberland Farms in Corinth, Saratoga County

Two more winning $1 million tickets were sold in New Jersey.

One was sold at the 7-Eleven on County Road in Tenafly. Another was sold at Circle K on Richmond Avenue in Point Pleasant.

In all, eight tickets matched five numbers nationally before Tuesday night’s drawing, but missed out on the mega number.

Tickets with five numbers but missing the mega number are worth $1 million or multiples of $1 million.

Just shy of the $1.050 billion jackpot in Michigan in January 2021, Friday’s billion-dollar Mega Millions drawing is the fourth-largest jackpot in U.S. history.

The Mega Millions record jackpot was $1.537 billion, won in South Carolina in October 2018 — the world’s largest lottery prize won on a single ticket.

The US record jackpot was $1.586 billion in the January 2016 Powerball draw.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states as well as Washington, DC and the US Virgin Islands. The game is monitored by state lottery officials.
