Shawn Mendes postpones world tour due to ‘mental health’

Shawn Mendes He announced on Friday evening that he had decided to postpone his world tour, citing his “mental health”.

The “Senorita” singer had to reschedule the July 29 tour dates through Uncasville, Connecticut, because she had reached a “breaking point.”

“It breaks my heart” to delay the shows, he said in a post on his social media, but “I’ve been touring since I was 15 and to be honest it’s always hard being on the road away from friends and family. .”

After a few years away from touring, he said he felt ready to get back on the road, but recently realized it was “premature and unfortunately the toll and pressure of the road caught up with me and I hit a breaking point.”

Thousands of fans posted messages of support in the comments, including “Honey, I’m Good” singer Andy Kramer, who wrote on Instagram: “Love you man- proud of you for doing what you need.”

Kramer recently admitted in an interview that his mental health suffered during the coronavirus pandemic.

“I went really hard and got into therapy and that’s what got me around,” he told the Cincinnati Enquirer. “I wasn’t very positive. I broke down very hard.”

Mendes’ “Wonder” tour kicked off on June 27 in Portland, Oregon, and was scheduled to continue through October in the US and then worldwide into next summer.
